I was given a laptop that had a stuffed CPU cooler fan so I purchased a new one off eBay for $20 and replaced it. Laptop works well as a Minecraft gaming machine for the kids.

I recently purchased a new Dell PC with Windows 10 home which I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. Since there was an unused OEM license on the PC I thought I might try to use it by having a user remotely login simultaneously while someone was using the computer. The problem I found was that Win 10 only allowed 1 user at a time to be logged into the machine and logged the second user out.

I purchased PowerColor RX5500XT 4GB and 8GB cards to see if I could upgrade the 4GB card to an 8GB card

The dishwasher started tripping out the RCD on the house so I pulled apart the door to see if water had leaked in to the control PCB. It was worse.

We purchased a Vax upright bag less vacuum cleaner 3 years 2 months ago and it came with a 3 year manufacturers warranty. It is now broken.

My daughter’s starter motor was playing up so after she purchased the wrong one I repaired her old one

We purchased an ex-school Acer laptop that the USB2 ports were not working.

I pulled it apart and found that one USB socket was part of the motherboard and the other was a separate circuit with the power switch

I was given the last bit of ice cream at church today. I took it to the car with all our other stuff we had to take home and left it on the front seat with my Wife to go back inside to grab a WiFi access point I had to get working. By the time I got back to the car it had all but evaporated, with my lovely wife looking at me questionly saying if I had wanted to eat it she should have been sitting in the drivers seat. I feel I have a strong argument for a divorce.

My power has tripped quite a few times recently due to some faulty electrical equipment and me doing some testing. One of the issues with this is that the laptop hosting this site has a dead battery so does not stay on or shutdown nicely with a power outage. A new battery is $35, so I thought I would give repairing this one a shot.

Caught a White Crowned Snake slithering in the back door. Amy was not impressed.
