Kids break everything

My eldest son requested a coconut and tried opening it by stabbing it with our favorite knife. As can be seen the knife came out second best with the tip being embedded in the husk and the blade snapping further up.

The broken knife and the responsible coconut

This had been repaired previously from my eldest daughter’s attempt at cutting cheese. It looks like the younger siblings are learning from their older sister and doing a better job and breaking it in 2 places.

The repaired knife

The TIG repair to the larger piece worked out pretty good. When I tried to TIG the small piece of tip all I managed to do was melt the blade and make a mess of it. So the result was grinding it down shorter.
