We are currently trying to toilet train my boy (2yo) and when he woke up this morning his nappy was dry. You would think this was a good thing, but it most definitely was not.

I was woken by my daughter (4yo) calling to her brother to turn off the light( it was 5am) so I went to save the little girl from her brother. I was welcomed by the 2yo giving me what looked like a brown marble, which after grabbing it found it to be a perfectly spherical piece of faeces. I then noticed the dry nappy on the bed and the 2yo lack of nappy, being naked on his bottom half.
It was at this point that I contemplated going back to bed to let my wife find the surprise, but the though of the consequences of my lovely wife finding out my plan to let her clean up the mess I had discovered made me reconsider.
I then begrudgingly started looking for the result of my pant-less boy, which consisted of a very wet bed, as the nappy must have been taken off before he had gone to sleep, poo and a wet spot on the carpet and of course one can not forget about the initial nugget handed to the culprits father. More was then pointed out to me by Mr 2yo with great enthusiasm with “POO” and a pointed finger directing me to the relevant location, 4yo sink of her play kitchen. I don’t know if he transfer it up there or had managed to squat over it with the previous training we had given him, but I can only speculate.
I am now going to be taping his nappies on at night to stop any further incidents.
