Mobile High-definition Link tear down

This is going to be a short post as it is a small device

AG611-MAL Chip as the only silicone in the adaptor

I purchased this adaptor to try to access a phone with a broken screen to turn it into a wireless IP camera streaming device. I needed to be able to see what was displayed so it could actually be set up. It did not display anything so I assumed the phone was stuffed. A few months later I was given a Samsung S7 which did work so I tested it out on it but got the following error

I knew the connection was dry. I am guessing the phone is looking for leakage current to pin 4 on the micro USB for a moisture-in-connector event. For those that may not know, this extra pin has several uses, it can define if the cable plugged in is a On The Go (OTG) to plug thumb drives, Ethernet adaptors and the like into your phone, have the port act as a composite video out port on a camera and in this case it is supposed to enable the phone to output high definition video over the 2 USB data lines.
